How should we help teachers integrate technology into their curriculum?
Learning the basics of using technology.
Using technology to support instruction.
Integrating new technology into classroom practice.
Discovering new uses for technology tools or designing projects that combine multiple technologies.
Focusing on cooperative, project-based and interdisciplinary work with technology being just one of many tools that students use.

Intergrating technology enhanced instruction for my students. Because of the technology, my studnets were able to understand difficult concepts faster.
Integrating technology allows students the opportunity to express their creative side, while learning. Technology integration allows teachers another avenue to teach a lesson or evaluate understanding.
Intergrating technolgy in the classroom brings interest and makes complex concepts simpler to understand. I divide my classroom into work stations, where we use technology to create an exciting and stimulating section. The students can use the computer to create projects or power points to present a certain segiment to the class.
Technology is one of my many passions. United Streaming was one of the sites that I was introduced to through Galaxy training. Students love the interactive activities!
Great blog!
Technology assist teachers in differentiated instruction. It allows teachers to get students involved -whether its through visual, audio, or kinesthetic. I have seen students come alive once technology is integrated in a lesson. I feel that there needs to be more up-to-date technological equipment ready for every teacher’s usage within his/her school.
interesting blog
Technolgy has been very improt in the education of my children. When I went to the school to visit with my childrens teacher it was amazing to see how different technology was being used in the school system.
Lessons plans should be sent to the principal via e-mail.
align all softward to the content standards
The district should provide a management tool to teachers to report such items as grades, attendance, and lunch count.
Professional Development is the key to users of technology.
Teachers need time to integrate technology into the curriculum.
To integrate, there needs to be a model technology site and coaches to facilitate and monitor implementation.
Hello Alethea,
Intergrating technolgy in the classroom produces interest from the students and makes complex concepts simpler to understand. My class is divide into groups to work at computer stations during our morning reading block, where they use technology to reinforce skills and concepts already introduced in a previous lesson.
The students love this part of the day, I think basically because using the computer is hands-on. I find that most students prefer hands-on activities to pencil and paper tasks.

I too believe that technology is very useful in the classroom. I use COW's in my classroom all the time. A project that my students used technology on was their electronic portfolios. The students got to pick and choose the projects they place in the portfolio. All they all must incorporate some technology and math concept.
The out come of the projects were awesome. Some students made movies and other did power points presentations. I would recommend this for all courses and secondary students.
The use of technology is a great tool to aid in the presentation of any subject matter. The challenge is making sure that teachers have access to functioning equipment. Many times teachers spend more time trying to get the technology working properly then they do presenting or teaching the lesson planned .
Schools have to realize integrating technology means assuring the technology is ready for use daily. The teachers also have to be given the opportunity to master the use of such technology, which may mean additional training. Teachers often get really nervous about adding anything else to their plates, even if the students benefit.
It would be great if each classroom had their own smart board, projector, and computer for instruction similiar to university equipment. Proper equipment would allow less time preparing for the use of technology. Portable carts are very difficult to use because they are shared by different people. I believe if schools are going to promote the use of technology they should support it by providing each classroom with the technology.
If the technology is part of the classroom it will become an instructional aide and integrated throughout the curriculum. The idea is to make the technology easy to use, not cumbersome.
I am convert to IT. Prior to my start of this doctoral program, I was lost. Knew somethings about computers, but nothing to rave about.
Yes, I do believe that if technology is working properly for classroom purposes more students will take their work serious. Howard Gardner's (1983) Multiple Intelligence Theory of learning calls for IT. How else are educators going to measure right brain skills?
Even as adults, during conferences, the use of IT helps to reduce boredom. Who wants to attend schools now adays, where traditional styles of teaching and learning are nothing but chalk and talk.
Since reading Clement, Angela, and Piroska's fantastic ideas about IT in the classroom, I am now hooked for something different.
Life on rural Andros is slowing catching up with IT, but there is still so much more to be accomplished. Who is interested in adopting a rural school in Andros?
(LOl). Great Work!

Technology is highly important in the education of our children. I teach sixth and tenth grade Biology and I use technology daily. My students love it and I couldn't imagine doing it any other way. I have to admit there are veteran teachers that are resistant to change and refuse to use technology in their classroom. These teachers need to be shown how to implement technology into their lessons through workshops or mentors.
The use of technology in the classroom is a must for any teacher; the resources available are tremendous and beyond the scope of any teacher-made activity.
Plus, the students are attuned to using technology and if you want to actively engage them in the instructional objective; technology is the way to do it.
